How to Achieve Success ?

Success is everybody’s dream. So is the key to success? How can a person be successful?
Every one wants to get success in his daily life be it personal life, in the office, among the friends or the society at large. Each one of us would like to be seen as warriors who have won the war and are enlightened over the success in defeating the impossible.
Success makes us charged and positive on all fronts.

Narrated here is a small poem on what is success, by Berton Braley:

That's Success
It's doing your job the best you can, And being just to your fellow man;
It's making money - but holding friends, And being true to your aims and ends.
It's figuring how and learning why,And looking forward and thinking high;
And dreaming a little and doing much,It's keeping always in closest touch.
With what is finest in word and deed,being thorough, yet making speed;
It's daring blithely the field of chance, While making labour a brave romance.
It's going onward despite defeat,And fighting staunchly, but keeping sweet;
It's being clean and it's playing fair, It's laughing lightly at Dame Despair.
It's looking up at the stars above ,And drinking deeply of life and love;
It's struggling on with the will to win,But taking loss with a cheerful grin.
It's sharing sorrow and work and mirth,And making better this good old earth;
It's serving, striving through strain and stress,
It's doing your noblest - that's success!

From the above Poem following points emerge as the key to success . A person should possess the following qualities :-
· Doing one’s job the best one can.
· Being just to our fellow man.
· Able to anticipate how and learn why a particular problem can be resolved,
· Should look forward and think high;
· Dream a little and do a lot,
· Being thorough, yet making speed.
· Marching onward despite defeat, and fighting staunchly, but keeping sweet
· One has to have a clean image and play fair, laughing lightly at Despair (साफ़ सुथरी स्वच्छ छवि हो, इमानदारी से कार्य करने एवं हंस कर निराशा को दूर कर देने वाला व्यक्तित्व होना चाहिए )
· Struggle on with the will to win, But take loss with a cheerful grin.
· Share the sorrow of others and work and be cheerful, And make better this good old earth;
· Serve, strive through strain and stress. And when we do all this It’s doing your noblest

Among other Important Assets which one must possess for achieving success in life, following two are on the top most agenda:-

· Positive attitude
o Power of Positive Attitude :
Positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into one’s life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. If we adopt it as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into our life, and make them happier, brighter and more successful. With a positive attitude we see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening.

· Passion.
o Most important asset one must have is Passion. While we may get results in the short term without having passion, in the long term it makes the difference between achieving success and failing. When we are passionate about what we do, our passion will show up in our work. Not only will passion lead us to achieve success, it will also lead us to a fulfilling life. We will become who we are. We will become the person we are supposed to be.

Measuring Success:

In order to be successful we should measure success based on how much we give rather than how much we receive. Those who give more almost always will also receive more. Thus the more value we give to others, the more successful we will be. Making ourselves as useful as possible to others is the key to success.
Making ourselves as useful as possible to others is only possible when the people realise the value they will get from us. When they realise the value offerred to them, more and more people shall get attracted towards us making us successful.

We should possess / develop the following qualities which will help us in not only motivating ourselves but also motivating the people around us:-
· Be observant of needs. We have to assess the needs of the persons / people
· Find solutions to the needs
· Be proactive to help
· Be sincere (Being sincere means being glad to help others without expecting anything in return)
· Go the extra mile

Having observed the needs of the people and finding solutions an action plan be formed by following the steps as under:-
1. Set a Goal for the work to be done.
2. An action plan is to be drawn for achieving the set goals.
3. Team Work plays an important Role.
a. Delegation of duties / Role to be played by each person.
b. Co-ordination of the various types of Jobs.
c. Honest implementation of duties assigned
4. The most important factor is the Time Schedule which should be strictly observed and any time over=run should be plugged in.
5. Jubilant Celebration of the successful completion of the Goal / Event.

Examples of success are Large followers / gathering at any public meetings, Marriage Functions, Official Functions, Social Functions getting overwhelming response and praise from the outsiders and our own people.
The world won't care about your old defeats

If you can start anew and win success;

Destructive thoughts within our mindscan keep us in despair...

… as we pray for a healthy attitude,our negative thoughts will cease.

Salary Hike - Implementation of Sixth Pay Commission

..." For Central Govt. Employee the wage revision is at 40 % with lots of other benefit, for PSUs the revision range from 60% to 90%, for UGC teaching professional the revision is at 60% & even in many state Govt. the revision is more than 50% BUT PSUs BANK OFFER is at 13.09%. Please ask yourself do you work less than others or do your organisation is not making enough profit, are you working at a very comfortable work environment without risk & responsibility .... If your answer is NO than you deserve a respectable wage hike (Let us make it a mass movement ). Please circulate to all colleagues (send SMS to a minimum 15 colleagues ) so that message will reach to its destination ..."
This is the text message that is being circulated amongst the various Bank employees on a regular basis as the Bank Employees are not being offered a respectable hike in their next Salary Wage revision for which the United Forum of Bank Unions is negotiating with the IBA and the Govt. The Government of India on the one hand is giving Lucrative handsome increase to various Govt. Employees , it is waiving around 60000 + crores of Bank Loans but the Bank Employees are not given their due demands.
In the present scenario of Global Meltdown when the Economies of various countries has gone down leading to failure of a large no. of Bank's our esteemed leaders do not feel ashamed to boast of the fact that India's Economy is strong and the Indian Bank's are strong. We can see the two sides of the same mirror where on the one hand the Govt. accepts that Indian Banks are strong and the Indian economy is stronger than that of Global countries, on the other hand the same Bank Employees are deprived of their Justified Demand for a handsome increase in the Salaray unlike the Govt. Sectors
In todays's news in Dainik Bhaskar a report is appearing " ..Govt has increased the salary of Chairman of Electricity Regulatory Commission (Vidyut Niyamak AAyog) from existing Rs. 26000/- to Rs. 80000/- with arrears payable from 1st January 2006 .."
Similarly there is news about the salary incres threefold for the Judges.
The Bank Employees are also responsible wokers, they give their best output despite the various hurdles faced by them. They are not only responsible but also accountable for the jobs undertaken by them. Bank Employees have always stood by the Government Expectations. Hence there is need to take a fresh look of the entire situation and respectable enhancement of salary should be a value for the good work done by them.

Punjab Gold Cup Hockey

Sports Up Dates: February 2009
Punjab Gold Cup: India finishes runner-up ... by Arun Arnaw

The Indian Hockey Team's quest to find a place among elite-nations suffer a jolt when European champion Holland forced them to bite dust in the final of the Punjab Gold Cup Hockey tournament held at Sector-42 stadium in Chandigarh. The Dutch, came from behind to register a 2-1 win and lifted the beautiful trophy. Olympic champion Germany defeated New Zealand to take third place.
The India's first four-nation double -leg tournament was held at Sector-2 Stadium in Chandigarh from January 31 to February 9, 2009. The four teams which featured in the tournament were - host India, European champion Holland, Olympic Champion Germany and New Zealand. Germany entered their developmental team in the tournament while Holland rested some senior players.
India opened her campaign against New Zealand by defeating them 2-0 and gave good fight to Holland in her second outing. In her third league match against Germany, Indians were in full flow and posted an encouraging 2-0 win. Indians were a satisfying lot after the completion of the first leg but the second leg proved tough. Indians faced horrifying moments in this leg and at one stage, it seemed to be distant to sail in to the finals. India first drew with Holland and then suffered humiliating 2-4 drubbing at the hands of Germany. In the crucial final league match against New Zealand, India played remarkably well and brushed aside her rival to earn a berth in the final.
The final was played in good esteem. After a barren first half India surged ahead in the 44th minute when Sandeep Singh converted a penalty stroke, which was awarded for obstructing Shivendra Singh by Dutch defender Wouter Jolie in the striking circle. The lead lasted only two minutes. The desperate Dutch organised themselves after conceding a goal and made repeated forays in the Indian territory. Soon it paid off. Robert Kemperman, after taking possession of the ball in the Indian half, ran down the Indian defenders and sounded the board to make the score-card 1-1. Thereafter Indians tried hard and in the process she earned two successive penalty corners in 53rd and 55th minutes but of no avail. Holland sealed the India's fate when Jeroen Hertzberger converted a penalty corner just two minutes before the long hooter.

The India's overall performance in the tournament has been average. Indian players have failed to maintain their level through out the competition. In patches they have been splendid but in demanding situations their game looked disjointed and disorganised. Their penalty corner conversion-rate also needs improvement. However Indian players are eager to return to top fold of nations and they are toiling hard for it. If they continue to work hard, the success will definitely come their way. This year Indian-Hockey has a busy schedule and just after this tournament, India team is leaving for a series in Down Under.
Man of the tournament: Jeroen Hertzberger (Holland)
Indian Team: Sandeep Singh (captain), Baljit Singh, Adrian D'Souza (goalkeepers), Dilip Tirkey, V Raghunath (fullbacks), Gurbaj Singh, VS Vinay, Vikram Pillay, Prabhod Tirkey, Ignace Tirkey (Midfielders), Deepak Thakur, Prabhjot Singh, Shivendra Singh, Rajpal Singh, Arjun Halappa, Tushar Khandekar, SV Sunil, Bharat Chikara (forwards). Harindra Singh (coach in-charge), Ramandeep Singh (coach), Romeo James (coach), Mithai MV (Trainer), Shrikant (physio) and Ashok Kumar (technical manager).
